Course Description
The Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) will equip you with the skills and knowledge to work as an enrolled nurse. You will be required to undertake clinical work placement in a variety of approved clinical facilities, as an associate to a registered nurse. You will learn about legal and ethical issues in health care, effective communication strategies, anatomy and physiology and development through the lifespan. A range of medical and health problems and related nursing care in a variety of contexts such as medical/surgical nursing, paediatrics or aged care as well as the administration of medication is also delivered within the course.

Entry Requirements
Completion of secondary schooling or at least two years experience in a closely related field. All prospective students must also attend an interview and confirm their physical and mental fitness to safely perform the duties associated with direct care.Additional requirements apply for clinical placements including a National Police Clearance and a record of immunization against communicable disease. These will be provided at the student’s expense.

Vocational Placement
Students are fully insured by Careers Australia College of Healthcare.

AU $13,800.Fees are subject to change without prior notice. Under VET FEE HELP the full cost of the course will be covered.

Children’s Services Diploma Course Overview

Following on from the Certificate III in Children’s Services, the Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) is the next step in professional development for students seeking a fulfilling career in the childcare industry.

Diploma of Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care) provides students with an in-depth understanding of children and how to engage with them in a group care environment. At the Diploma level the course focus shifts to learning about daily, weekly and long term programming.

The Diploma of Children’s Services is an 18 month course full-time, and comprises of both in-class learning and practical experience. Essential knowledge will be assessed through written work and essential skills will be assessed through the industry placement. Students are required to complete 128 hours of practical placement in the first year, and 240 hours in the second year. As a part of the course students will learn how to plan experiences for children of differing ages and abilities and how to include children with additional needs.

Upon completion of this course students are eligible to gain employment as an Authorised supervisor (Children’s Services), Children’s Services Coordinator, Centre Manager, Director or Group Leader in a Childcare Centre, Child Development Worker, or as a Children’s Service Director/Manager. Students wishing to continue their studies have the option of continuing onto the Advanced Diploma level, or diversifying into another area such as Out of School Hours Care, Aged Care, Disability or Welfare. Further to this, students may also be able to continue their studies in Early Childhood at a university level through our articulation pathways.
